Busy, busy week!!!

This has been such a busy and fun week for both Jordan and Mommy!  First of all, our wonderful nanny Bev and her husband Charlie left us for the summer to work at RidgeHaven camp in western NC.  We were sad to see them go but it's such a great opportunity for them...plus, we know that we will see "Aunt Bev and Uncle Charlie" again soon!

Bye-Bye Nanny Bev!
The next day, Ceci came to visit for a week and she was willing to babysit for Jordan so that Mommy could work and make some money.  It was a fun and busy week:  Jill worked, John was still at work (next to last week of school), we shopped, we went out on the boat, and we went to the beach and pool. So much fun for all of us, but for Jordan especially!

Such a ham!

Lovin' the leaves!

With Ceci

We finally took Jordan out for a spin on the boat....it was a beautiful day with not a lot of boat traffic, so it was so nice.  Jordan loved looking around and feeling the breeze blowing over him, but he definitely hated having to wear that bulky lifejacket!  I don't blame him, just picking him up felt like picking up the michelin man!

First time on our boat!

Loving the views...not loving the lifejacket

Mommy also gave Jordan his first haircut, after Ceci complained that it was too long in the front.  We were sad to cut off that sweet baby hair, but we did keep it for his baby book.  And gosh, that hair was so dark!  He's starting to look like a little blondie now that his dark tips are all gone!

Before my first haircut....

......after my first haircut!

What a cheeser!

Happy 8th Month Birthday to our big boy!

Wow! We can't believe that Jordan is actually 8 months old!  We thought we'd list all the things that make him special to us:

Jordan is very silly!  He loves to squeal as loud as possible and he makes the craziest faces.
He wants to be the center of attention.  One funny thing he does is grunt if he wants you to look at him, and once you do, he gives you the best smile.
He is very observant.  Whenever we take him somewhere, his head is constantly moving back and forth--he just wants to see everything!
Jordan is totally into his book collection....while on his changing table, he will crane his neck trying to stare up at his wall bookshelves.  He also loves to help turn the pages.
He is a great eater!  He eats three full meals a day, along with breastfeeding five times a day.  Unless his gums are hurting, he would lick the bowl clean if we'd let him.
He has the cutest curls on top of his head!
He gets so excited whenever cars drive by (we can watch them from our back patio)...he will squeal, flap his arms, and bounce up and down.  So funny!
He kicks his legs when he is in the pool, kind of like a frog!  Sometimes he'll even do it when we're out of the water.
His leg bombs are hilarious!  We can hear him downstairs whenever he is "leg-bombing" upstairs in his crib. Plus, he will leg bomb when we come to get him up in the morning.
He stands up in his exersaucer, grabs the overhead bar, and shakes it while squealing...reminds us of King Kong!
Jordan makes us feel so loved and missed whenever we walk in the front door from work.  He greets us with the biggest smile and totally melts our heart.

Happy 8th Month to our little moo. xoxo Mommy and Daddy

So sweet

Our first Mother's Day!

This past Sunday was Mommy's first Mother's Day and it was such a nice day.  John handled all the meals and cleaning and Jill got to lay back and spend time with her reason for the day's celebration...Jordan.  We are looking forward to many more Mother's Days in the future!
